Many members say, after OOKP surgery, their sight's much improved, but some need just a little help with reading print. They don't want to carry reading glasses, but need something!
Take a look at this credit card size magnifier. It's easy to carry, has fantastic magnifying qualities and can be used when you just need a little extra help

USING A WHITE CANE FOR BEGINNERS!
Many people with a visual impairment, find using a white cane, gives them more confidence and control when in strange places. It allows you to detect obstacles, kerbs, stairs and is ideal for helping keeping you safe. However, there are certain techniques to use, so your cane gives the maximum information. As there are fewer registered cane tutors around, watch this video to help you become familiar with using your cane correctly.
TIPS FOR CHOOSING A MAGNIFIER
If you're not into technology, then you probably use a physical magnifier to access print, labels, documents etc. It's recommended you use the assistance of a qualified optometrist to help you choose the correct magnifier, as there are so many variations. However, by watching this video, you may gain a better understanding of how to choose a magnifier which is suitable to your needs. Take your time, and gain the knowledge to see how magnifiers differ, according to the strength of magnification, then use your new found knowledge to make your choice

PIANO METHOD FOR ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS
Learning Piano can be expensive and time consuming and traditionally, involves hours of practice, with what seems to be very little progress, other than being able to play scales rather than songs. Marking Techniques - Make Items More Accessible.
Even after OOKP surgery, there may be limitations to your sight, preventing you from using such things as kitchen appliances with maximum efficiency. This is where marking commonly used settings, like the spin only cycle on a washing machine, can be done by using various labelling techniques. Watch the video to see what questions you should ask yourself when markikng appliances, and how inexpensive stationary can be used to label almost anything. Many members say, labelling often saves time and reduces frustration by selecting the wrong settings. Take a look, it may give you some ideas.
