SUPPORT SERVICE
Empowering people, through peer support and guidance
Welcome
It's a pleasure to welcome you to this comprehensive website, designed to empower, assist, support and encourage those involved with OOKP, whether a patient, family member, student or professional, there's a vast amount of information included in this site, so please, take your time to explore.
We've tried to include the assets users requested, to ensure this site remains peer lead.
From articles to tutorial videos, fund raising and donations to FAQ's, you'll find them here, along with much much more.
So, if you have a question, search for the answer in the various categories listed along the top of this website. If for any reason you don't find your answer, simply click the button below, and email us your question, where we'll endeavour to provide an answer, and ensure it's included on the website for others to access.
Remember, no question is considered "silly." If you've a question, you can guarantee others have the same question, so it's our mission to provide answers, allowing you to become stronger, more confident and able to live life to the full.
A full explanation of our mission can be found by clicking the "About Us" tab in the top menu of this site. However, as a brief overview, this project was suggested almost 10 years ago, but no support or funding was available. Forward to July 2025 and a friendship meeting was organised, for OOKP patients and their families, both past and present, to discuss their needs. It was agreed, a central hub should be available for all to access, to answer any questions they have.
SO, THIS OOKP SUPPORT SERVICE WEBSITE WAS BORN.
Please feel free to browse every section of the site and obtain the answers to your questions, and if possible, to help us develop further, use the "Contact Us" section to give feedback
Using This Site
We've tried keeping this site simple, despite the comprehensive material it contains.
The home page gives an overview of what to expect from the site. It shows features available, and highlights the FAQ's section, which we hope will answer your questions.
However, the star of this page is the "Social Events". When clicked, it shows any events being run by our members, along with meetings, workshops, online socials and much more. Use this to quickly discover what's going on.
You'll also find a menu at the head of the website, divided into sections,, to help with navigation.
If you find an arrow beside the menu heading, it indicates it contains sub-sections. Also, if these sub-sections show an arrow in a square box, more relevant topics are available. Simply click the menus and sub-menus, to explore what's available
And if you don't find what you're looking for, simply click the contact us menu at the top of the page,, send us a message of your needs and we'll aim to provide it

Peer Group Support
The best method of solving a problem is talk to those who've experienced the problem
We appreciate this, so created our own WhatsApp group, open to anyone involved with OOKP. Simply click on the link and within minutes, you can ask questions, receive peer advice and support, etc. Whatever your issue, we're sure someone in our group will help
Donations & Fund Raising
Our service is currently run by dedicated volunteers, who are much appreciated.
We're working to become a registered charity, but until then, we rely totally on donations and fund raising. Whatever you can raise, it's always allocated towards the running costs of this support service, ensuring it's the most comprehensive, all in one hub, for discovering how to live with OOKP.
Pre & Post Op Support
Many of our members have undergone OOKP surgery and experienced the feelings it produces.
We want to offer support to reduce the apprehension you feel, before and after surgery. We aim to support you, from the moment you're informed about OOKP, right through to the point you wish the support to stop. Whether it be on leaving hospital, or right through your entire life, we're there, providing the life skills you need
NEWSLETTERS
To ensure you're kept upto date with what's out there to help you on your OOKP journey, we have a monthly newsletter named "VISIONARY HORIZONS," which can be accessed and read on this website.
Simply click the "NEWS" section in the categories at the head of the page. Click the arrow to the left of the "NEWSLETTERS" heading and you're presented with each issue, arranged in a monthly format.
Click each newsletter and scroll down to the "TABLE OF CONTENTS," to discover which articles are of interest. If none take your fancy, simply click the following month and try a different edition.
If a topic interests you, which is not covered, send us an email, using our dedicated email address on this page and we'll try our hardest to provide an article to meet your needs.
We hope you find joy in accessing information specifically created to help OOKP members, their families and friends, and their carers
What if I need to speak to someone, as I'm not confident using email or social media?
